Attention ALL Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band Alumni!!

Southern University Human Jukebox Alum, Homecoming is almost here and WE have the opportunity to participate in the first annual alumni marching band fundraiser to honor our legendary band director Mr. Carnell Knighten and give back to the music students of SU!

The purpose of this event is to raise funds to financially assist the Southern University Band Program (Band Travel, Instrument Repair, Scholarships, etc.) while building and rekindling camaraderie among past and current members of the Human Jukebox. The 2012 Alumni Band will dazzle the Mumford Stadium crowd during the Homecoming pre-game activities. The band will be comprised of former Jukebox members dating back to the 1960's and will feature tunes arranged by our recently-passed legendary Jukebox arranger of 20 years, "The Maestro" Mr. Carnell Knighten!

I personally cannot wait to get back in the band hall, get back on the field with all my music peers and relive those glory days if not for just a 30 minute pre-game field show; just for the sole purpose of giving back to the music students of Southern University. I get chills thinking about it because I remember how being in that uniform used to make me feel. Those were some of the best days of my life in college. I have so many great memories from being a member of the Human Jukebox and contributing to our greatness as section leader of the piccolo section in 2007. This will be incredible.
